今天公司有了驚動所有人的大事發生, 大家應該可以猜到是什麼事吧? 沒錯, 就是裁員. 公司人數約300人, 聽說要裁10%. 現在是下午四點, 但是我聽到被裁的人, 掐指一算, 還不到10人. 不曉得另外20人何時會被告知.

以下的文章是由一位中醫師寄送給我的. 裡面的內容對我而言並不陌生, 幾年前開始, 我就已經讀過相關的文章. 甚至於, 在六七年前, 也曾有人告訴我, 喝牛奶會導致鈣質流失.

家人回台灣時, 意外發現冬天睡覺時保暖的妙方, 那就是把毛毯(Fleece Blanket) 用別針別在被套裡, 蓋的時候, 毛毯是靠近人體那一面, 這樣子晚上睡覺時就不會冷了.
因為這項發現, 你知道家人添購了幾條毛毯嗎? 五條...... 
加上原本就有的毛毯, 現在共有六條. 看來今年冬天應該可以省下不少暖氣費吧?!

速食店有得來速(Drive Thru), 咖啡店也有, 夠酷吧? 因為地域的關係, 所以人口稠密度高的矽谷比較少見, 只有一次在北加的荒涼城市中, 看過星巴克的得來速, 這次從南加回家的路上, 就在Highway5號和184公路上的休息區中, 也看到星巴克有得來速.

在美國辦離婚官司中, 夫妻雙方會協調各自要拿的物品, 如果對方不同意, 那就上法院由法官決定.
前一陣子在收音機上聽到, 東案有一個離婚官司, 先生說要太太的"腎" (Kidney) 
, 這是一個很怪的要求吧. 原因是, 他老婆的腎是他之前捐出來的, 現在要離婚了, 他決定要回來, 如果老婆不願意, 就用錢解決吧.

自上星期五, 發布Circuit City關門新聞後, 隔天星期六, 每一家分店就開始做清倉大特賣的活動.
星期日當天, 吃過中餐, 就跑去Circuit City那裡一探究竟, 順便走路消化一下.
之前Linen 'n Things的折扣, 拖的像阿婆的纏腳布又臭又長. 折扣下的很慢, 遇到灣區許多有錢的人家, 雖然還未降到我滿意的價錢, 但是架上的商品幾乎都已被搬光了, 所以我去了兩次都是無功而返.

今天上班途中, 在收音機上聽到全美第二大電子產品店, Circuit City, 即將關門. 繼 KB Toys, Mervyns and Linens 'N Things 等店家的倒閉, 今天再添一宗關門的大新聞. Circuit City有560多家分店關門. 前陣子Circuit City 就先關閉一些分店, 企圖挽救頹勢, 看來成效不大.
有分析家指出, 接下來, 應該還會有不少店家申請破產. 下一個會是誰呢? 現在失業率一直攀升, 新總統雖然想力挽狂瀾, 但也止不住這樣一家家的倒閉. 尤其是美國銀行, Bank of America, 昨天又像美國政府要錢, 營救之前接手的Merrill Lynch. 一件件事往上加, 猶如雪上加霜, 令人唏噓不已.

這一篇是欠網友已久的文章. 自回台灣前的準備, 到現在回來一個月, 已經堆積如山的相片, 都不知如何下手和消化了. 尤其是手邊有太多電腦同時在使用, 有空寫網誌時, 常找不到之前下傳的相片在哪. 所以積欠的文章是一天拖過一天. 幸好沒有被網友追殺, 感謝大人
的大德大量.
每次網友們辦的踩踩樂, 我很難有機會踩到. 尤其是台灣網友舉辦的. 這次, 遇到住在矽谷的Connie舉辦, 剛巧自己一個人看家, 所以就能隨心所欲的做自己的事, 專心的踩踩踩....
